Austin F. DuBois is a seventh-generation resident of Orange County, N.Y., living in the City of Newburgh with his family. He is a partner with Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, LLP, a law firm with offices in Goshen, Poughkeepsie, Monticello, and Warwick, N.Y. Mr. DuBois helps people protect their assets from nursing home and long-term care costs, designs and implements complex and high net worth estate plans, and is general counsel to a select group of socially-conscious and innovative businesses and entrepreneurs.

In 2016, 2017, and 2018, Mr. DuBois was named to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in the field of business/corporate law; in 2014 and 2015, he received the same award in the field of elder law. In 2012, Mr. DuBois received a Rising Star award from the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. He was named “Top Attorney” for estate litigation in 2009 and 2010 by SJ Magazine. In 2010 he received the “Awesome Attorney” award for estate litigation from South Jersey Magazine.

Mr. DuBois is a cum laude graduate of SUNY Fredonia and received his law degree from Rutgers
University School of Law at Camden. In 2011, Mr. DuBois received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation, with a focus in estate and business planning, from Temple University Law School. In the fall of 2003, Mr. DuBois studied Philosophy of Law at Oxford University.

Mr. DuBois is a member of WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel, and regularly educates other attorneys, financial planners, accountants, and the general public about various techniques and topics related to his areas of practice. He is also a member of the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Mr. DuBois enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, and playing guitar, but makes time to serve on various civic and charitable boards of directors, such as the Hudson Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Good Work Institute, Inspire and the Inspire Foundation, the City of Newburgh Industrial Development Agency, and St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.
