Four Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone Partners Recognized as Top Rated Lawyers For 2018 by New York Super Lawyers

Posted on: August 28th, 2018

Continuing on a legacy of achievement, Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, LLP Partners Gardiner “Tad” Barone, Richard J. Shapiro, Austin F. DuBois, and William A. Frank have all again been recognized as Top Rated Lawyers by New York Super Lawyers for 2018.

Barone was recognized in the field of business litigation for the seventh straight year and Shapiro was selected for his fifth consecutive time, earning a milestone achievement badge, for his work in the field of elder law.

Dubois was recognized for the fifth year in a row on the Rising Stars list, a distinction only 2.5 percent of attorneys earn. DuBois was selected for his work in the business & corporate sector of law. Frank was again recognized in 2018, his second straight year, for his work in the fields of state, local, and municipal law.

Recognition on the Super Lawyers list is limited to no more than five percent of attorneys, with the distinction of Rising Star being reserved for lawyers aged 40 and younger who have been in practice less than 10 years.

“The firm is pleased to again have four of our attorneys recognized by such a respected rating service in the industry,” said BSR&B Managing Partner Michael Blustein. “We are proud to have our own attorneys be included amongst the best of the best through an extensive process of independent research, nominations, and evaluations.”

Super Lawyers is a national and independent third-party rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer-led reviews by practice area.

Barone devotes his practice to the trial of complex commercial, corporate, and municipal litigation cases, and in advising clients with respect to resolving business disputes and corporate affairs.

Shapiro is head of the firm’s Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law Department. He is accredited by the National Elder Law Foundation as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA).

Frank focuses his practice on municipal law, banking, commercial transitions, real estate, and litigation, and is recognized regionally for his extensive experience and knowledge of municipal law.

DuBois focuses his practice on estate planning, elder law, asset protection, business formation and structuring, business succession planning, and general representation.
