Long-Term Care Educational Seminar for Seniors and Their Families

Posted on: March 23rd, 2018

Blustein, Shapiro, Rich & Barone, LLP Partner Austin DuBois and Umbrella Care Management President Barbara Wilhelmy are presenting a free workshop, “How to Use Medicaid to Get The Care You Need Without Risking Your Legacy,” on Thursday, April 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the BSR&B Education Center in Goshen.

“The rising costs of long-term care can be crippling to those in need, as well as their families,” said DuBois, an experienced estate planning attorney who helps seniors and their families protect their assets from nursing home and long-term care costs. “A carefully formulated long-term plan is essential, regardless of your financial wealth.”

The April 5 workshop will teach guests how to take advantage of Medicaid benefits to pay for the rising costs of long-term care, as well as estate planning tools and techniques to preserve their legacy for their loved ones.

“Our goal is to provide direction that will help seniors maintain their well-being, independence, and dignity and allow their families some relief from the challenges that come along with caring for an aging loved one,” said Wilhelmy, a registered nurse, nationally-certified geriatric care manager, and a certified case manager.

This workshop is free and open to the public. To register, call 845-291-0011 or email ldillon@mid-hudsonlaw.com.
